Please do what feels right and comfortable for you. <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Physically hold yourself – literally give yourself a hug or put your hand on your heart. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tap lightly on your chest, and say to yourself, \u201cI\u2019m okay, even though I\u2019m having big feelings and sensations.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Say to yourself, \u201cMy feelings make sense. I make sense to me.\u201d (self soothing)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Feel one place in your body that feels grounded. Stay with that place for 3 breaths minimum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notice what is really happening. Take the time to feel your own feeling – what is happening? What is the need behind the big feeling? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start with speaking your truth to yourself..\u201dI am feeling\u2026(insert feeling).\u201d  Put words to your emotions and send warmth to your own heart and experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is underneath the feeling? Misunderstanding, lack of empathy, lack of space\/presence, lack of support, lack of respect or boundaries, etc\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From here you can speak to the other person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I notice\u2026 (what actually happened…state simply).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I feel.. (fill in the emotion that is arising.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
